What a day today is! We got dumped on with snow last night and this morning and it looks like I won't be dug out until tomorrow sometime. At least we didn't get it as bad as they did east of here. They had blizzard warnings up and had a complete "whiteout" for about three hours or so. At least we didn't lose our electricity like we normally do. When that happens it's usually two or three days before it is turned back on.
Looks like we got our white Christmas.
A whole foot of white Christmas.
Along with the blowing and drifting.
It's a good thing I went to that other little town yesterday and did that computer work a day early. Now tomorrow I have to take one of the computers back.
It has also been brought to my attention that some of the archives of this blog are no longer there. That happened a while ago when Blogger and Yahoo weren't playing too nicely and this website is on a Yahoo server. Unfortunately I can't seem to find the backups yet. When I do I'll get them back up to the site.
Everyone, have a merry Christmas! I have to go dig myself out now.

Christmas is almost here and most of my shopping has been done early for a change. I sent out several packages to my ex and her kids and they have them already. I'm hoping that they have a great Christmas again this year. I sure would like to be there when they open their gifts on Christmas morning.
I have been debating on whether or not to drive all night Christmas eve to be there in the morning. I have a family dinner to go to on Christmas eve at my sister's house and if I'm not too tired I just might make that drive. A lot of it depends on the weather too. We are expected to get a snow storm coming in today that is supposed to dump a foot of snow on us by tomorrow morning.
I'm supposed to go out to another small town tomorrow and work on some computers, but I think I just might make that trip today. That willl mean a lot of driving today as I also have to go into the city to pick up a crashed Mac hard drive and try to do some file recovery work on it.
I have had two friends die over the last week and a half. Both of them died of cancer and one of them was only 45 and I went to her services last night. It seems like I go to a lot of funerals during these holidays. My father died the day before Thanksgiving five years ago and one of the guys that I sponsored died just a couple of weeks after that. Every year there seems to be someone else.
Oh well, that's life. People come and people go and we cry. We cry not for them, but for our own losses. Althought they have all moved on to the next world we can keep a part of them alive in this one by remembering them.

Things have slowed up a little with the computer stuff. I finally got a couple of days to myself. Over the last week I have built and delivered several computers as well as just doing some cleanup on some others.
I've also done a lot of international mailing of packages over the last week or so, so that they might get there before Christmas. I think I'm done shopping and shipping to Canada now. My ex should be getting packages everyday for the next week or so for her and the boys.
Now I get to do Christmas shopping for my Mom, Grandkids and nieces. I am planning on doing most of that today, while I have some free time.
I saw an old friend the other day while I was at a noon meeting. I haven't seen her in 3 years. She's the one that got me to go to my first meeting and helped me along during my first year or so of sobriety. She has since gone back out drinking and drugging at least twice that I know of, but is now back in the program and seems to be doing well. She's one of those that ended up losing it all including her husband and child. At least she has gotten a job and a place to live again and is getting back on her feet. I wish her well.

This has been one looooong week.
My baby sis came home on Monday and is doing well. I went to visit on Tuesday and she was getting along ok by herself.
All week long I have been putting in som long hours working on computers and haven't been getting home until late. I still have today and tomorrow to contend with but they won't be quite so long.
I did manage to get some Christmas shopping done and some packages shipped. Most of my shopping has been online and it's so much nicer doing it that way. I'm still waiting on a few packages to arrive on Monday, then I get to re-ship them to the boys up in Canada.
